The woman behind the Plants...

Hello, I’m Tabitha.

I come from a family of plant lovers — generations of hands in the soil, knowledge passed down through love, patience, and time. Plants have always been part of my story, even if I didn’t realize it at first.

And listen… I’ll be honest — I’ve sent plenty of plants up to glory before I got it right. But with patience, curiosity, and a whole lot of learning, something clicked. What started as trial and error slowly grew into a deep appreciation, and eventually, a true love for plants.

For me, plants are more than décor — they’re therapy. Gardening gives me a place to slow down, quiet the noise of the world, and root myself in something positive and grounding. It’s where my mind rests and my creativity wakes up.

During the plantdemic (yes, I’m sticking with that ), my children found their own love for plants too, creating gardens of their own. Watching that love grow across generations has been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey.

One of the greatest joys of this work has been the people — meeting kind spirits, sharing knowledge, learning from others, and connecting through something living and beautiful. Plants have a way of bringing people together in the most genuine way.

When I think back to my childhood and picture both of my grandmothers in their gardens — singing, humming, smiling, tending their plants while we played — I understand now what I didn’t then: the peace they felt. That’s the same peace I try to pour into every plant I grow and every creation I make. When people compliment how healthy and beautiful my plants are, it’s because they are handled and grown with care, patience, and love.

I don’t claim to know everything — I never will. But I am knowledgeable, constantly learning, and proudly licensed in horticulture (since October 2023). Root Life continues to grow as I explore creative, plant-forward designs — from living arrangements to unconventional bouquets and wreaths that step outside the norm and celebrate growth in unexpected ways.

At its core, this journey has always been about sharing — sharing knowledge, calm, creativity, and connection. My goal is not only to grow plants, but to grow a community of people who find joy, healing, and inspiration in all things green.

Welcome to Root Stems and Petals. 🌱
